HISTORY


   
    The YORK DRIVING SIMULATOR was first used in 1994 at Queen's University in the Department of Psychology.
   
    The use of the simulator was to investigate an individual’s ability to drive while intoxicated or sleep deprived, and how secondary tasks were handled.
   
    In 1998, YORK COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES was officially formed. This company is now committed to servicing and supporting clientele worldwide. The simulator is currently being used in university and hospital sleep clinics, departments of psychology, Neurobiology, Physiology and Neurophysiology, and transportation research.
   
    Today the simulator is used for a variety of applications including testing new intefaces, looking into how secondary tasks are handled and many forms of driver impairment.
